In general, 10 working days before the campaign launch, and 5 working days before for digital platforms.
There are lots of posters to be installed at the same time, which is impossible to do in just 1 day, so every poster company works according to the following market standard:
The installation period lasts from the 1st to the 4th at the beginning of each month, and from the 16th to the 19th in the case of campaigns starting mid-month.
For each poster campaign, we calcualate an additional ‘repair quantity’: +20% for billboards and +15% for citylights.
This is necessary because the posters may get damaged, and this way media owners can replace them faster, without having to wait for the printing house to re-print and deliver posters one-by-one.
The production prices we receive from printers vary based on the quantity ordered. The price is completely different (and lower) when a big quantity of only one creative is produced (e.g. 100 pieces) than when you have to produce a smaller number of multiple types, even if the total amount is the same (e.g. 5 × 20 pieces).
Completely different technologies or machines may have to be used, and multiple smaller operations will also increase production times.
Poster companies offer a 1-month warranty on paper-based posters, so they ask for new posters every month. If they don’t receive a new poster and monitoring shows damage, they may only be able to repair the damage at an additional cost.
Unfortunately, in this case, extra costs can be expected, and the installation of the posters may also be delayed compared to the standard installation timelines.
Unfortunately, we do not receive a list of exclusively downtown, premium locations from the media owners, including one of the largest (who owns most of the citylights in Budapest tram stops).
In a citylight campaign, the proportion of so-called “high” category surfaces can be approximately 20%. Therefore, it is not possible for a client’s ads to appear only on tram lines 4 and 6, on 20 surfaces. The “high” categories are typically: tram lines 4 and 6, malls, busier metro stops, the busiest bus/tram stops (e.g. Blaha Lujza Square, Ferenciek Square, Alkotás Street, Fővám Square, Jászai Mari Square, Újbuda Square, etc.).
Of course, we do our best to make this as little noticeable as possible, because we select the best, busiest ones from the lower-category surfaces for the campaign, but it must be noted that a campaign will not necessarily be present exclusively in the requested districts.
A register kept by the NMHH (the National Media and Infocommunications Authority), in which the media owners can request their legitimately installed and rented advertising surfaces to be registered. The aim of the regulation is to remove outdoor advertising tools that damage the cityscape. In addition, according to the law, outdoor ads visible from public areas can only be installed in a way that ensures that the location, the size and the appearance do not damage the architectural image of the settlement or part of the settlement. Since July 1, 2024, only those surfaces that are registered in the advertising cadastre can be used for advertising.
Yes, advertising publishers are constantly updating the list of currently usable platforms, and with the introduction of the advertising cadastre, their legality is no longer a questio
epending on traffic conditions, trams and other vehicles can sometimes take a different route than the one specified in the booking, but their primary route is the one included in the offer. Vehicles fitted with advertising spend at least 70% of the days in traffic.
With mobile devices, we can cover most locations requested by clients, but it is important to obtain any necessary permits in advance.
